I know we've all got our war stories, but in 2002 I had a high speed crash on the highway which ripped some wicked gouges in the chin bar/area of my old Arai helmet.
I know I'm not the prettiest thing going, but I would have been hella ugly or dead or worse, half-dead, with anything less, and missed out on years of riding.
I remember my co-worker who came to see me in the ER holding that helmet and saying aloud, "OMG, that would have been your face!"
Ride safe all,
Murph
Coming from a dirtbike background , I never warmed up to the 1/2 or 3/4 hemmets . I like my chin , therefor I were full face hemmets. To each his own. Those new 3/4s look like space hemmets for Honda riders , kind of out of place on the H-D .
If I had to wear a full face, especially on a Harley, I wouldn't ride. But that is just me. I can barely stand to wear any helmet at all, except on a long trip.

To each their own.
I'm no safety **** here.
One of the safest guys I ever knew - no motorcycles, no fast driving, no nothing, etc - died a few years back from some freakish, out-of-the-blue, 1/1,000,000 degenerative nerve disease that the doctors still can't explain.
so im thinking of going with a 3/4 helmet ive got three half helmets that arent good for all day rides cuz they buffet and are killing my hearing too. if i go to the harley dealer for the 3/4 can anyone recomend a model they like?
Bless your heart, you were able to go for a two hour ride. My bike is under a cover in the cornor of the garage with a battery tender hooked to it. It is currently 20 F and we are in blizzard conditions. First there was ice now the wind and snow is horrible. Very unusual here in Oklahoma, I would love to been able to go for a ride. Merry Christmas....

Never tried HJC helmets, which is what Harley sells rebranded.
