Default Extended Warranty Prices?

Hi All,

I'm just finishing inking my deal on the 08 eGlide. What should I be looking at for the extended warranty and any idea where the pricing should be?

Thanks in Advance

Most Dealers go with the moco pricing, I have an 08 105th UC, the warranty runs out in March. I called my Dealer and ask about an extended warranty. You can buy 1 year, 2 year and so on. I ask about a 5 year unlimited mileage. I was given a price of 1644.00 plus whatever your state sales tax is. I think it goes in 300.00 a year. so deduct 300.00 each year under five. I think it's a good buy myself, Plus you get other benefit's with it. I just bought my 08, I would not have bought a used bike without warranty. so it helps when you sell it.

$1750 for 5 more on mine, no tire & wheel coverage, HD dealer let me make $100.00 month payments with no interest--didn't have it on the 01 Ultra and had 2 stators replaced @ $300 a pop and then the eng. got sick to a tune of $2400. after another 10,000 miles the eng. was knocking again on a trip so I rode home Pi$$ed off @ 85 to 90mph for 720 miles and it held together! , (Amsoil?) sounded like horse hooves in the lower case whenever I let out the clutch and put a load on her, then I traded her off, still miss that bike,,lots of good times together,,just couldn't go through another hospital bill at the dealer getting repaired again. no warranty

Can't say for a used bike ... but here's what the dealer quoted me on a new '10 model (note: all prices include the original 2 year warranty, so a 3 year would be only 1 extended year, 4 year 2 ... etc.):

3 yr: $609
4 yr: $814
5 yr: $999
6 yr: $1204
7 yr: $1494

I don't believe that includes tire/wheel ... and I don't know how much wiggle room they have on the prices. I'd be interested to see what others have ...

Ok then I'm gonna take it, Ill check out the 5 year and see what they ask for it. I think if I screw up a rim or tire its probably my own fault, so I'd weigh the cost of that vs the policy. Can it be renewed at the end of it or is that a cut off? I'd bet they wouldn't because by the end it would be more problematic for breakdowns.

Thanks Guys

I paid $967 for a 5 year HD extended service plan including wheel and tire for my 2010 SEUC. This was 25% off the MoCo's msrp of $1289.

Here's the list pricing for extended service plans on touring bikes:
3 years $609; add $290 for wheel & tire coverage
4 years $814; add $290 w&t
5 years $999; add $290 w&t
6 years $1,204; add 365 w&t
7 years $1,494; add $365 w&t
Add $150 surcharge if purchased after more than 90 days from the in-service date or mileage is greater than 2000 miles.

The MoCo has put out a fancy printed flyer that should be available at your local dealership that lists the various years, prices and tire and wheel option costs.

What they don't tell you is that it's negotiable. While I got mine at 15% under the MoCo suggested retail price, a friend got his for 20% discount from another dealership (I think it was Chiacago).

Also, on a new bike....you don't have to get it at the selling dealership.....you can get it at any dealership in the first two years (as long as the factory warranty is still in place).

Thanks guy's, this thread has saved me a few bucks on my warranty. I just got off the phone with the guy who handles the extended warranties at my local Dealer. He explained what I've read on here. It's cheaper when the bike is new. also your two year moco warranty is in those years. A 7 year warranty is actually a 5 year extended. He also said if you don't use the warranty, you can get most of your money back, or transfer it to the new owner if sold. They are negotiable, He's knocking off 150.00 on the 5 year for me. Thanks again, this HDforum rocks!

Well I got 1999.99 for 5 years with the tire and rim warranty. Kinda felt bad beating up the dealer any more. I took off my windshield on my trade in instead and sold it so there is another $200
