Yes Ed, he did. He said the Ultra is heavier and wider than the sporty. I don't have a stock seat on my sporty, I have the sundowner and it raised me up. I have sat on an Ultra and it is the same hieght as mine. The Ultra stands up easier from the jiffy stand than my sporty though.
He also said they are difficult to back up.
He sold Harleys for a couple months and pretty much got to ride all of the bikes. However, I just think he wants to have a bigger bike.
As for as having ***** envy...I don't know and don't really care if his is longer, but I bet mine is wider!
I'm wondering if you shouldn't get one nicer than his?
The SE version perhaps? Hee hee!
My last bike was similar to the Heritage...even with a Mustang seat upgrade we would have to stop every 45minutes to an hour so she could get feeling back in her buns. I've had this 09 Ultra for almost a year now...there is no comparison. Now the only time we have to stop is for gas or for her bathroom breaks. Somehow she's gonna have to get them together!!!! Go with the Ultra you will not be dissappointed! I will never own anything else.

I was leaning toward the Ultra and getting a 103 upgrade. Ronp42 said the limited...Well, after adding all those goodies to the Ultra it would cost more than the limited, so that may be the way to go.
He is telling me I should get the Heritage instead of an ultra.
He has a Streetglide.
Could it be he doesn't want me to have a bigger, nicer bike?
The way I see it, he has a much bigger house, nicer cars, but I really don't care about all that.
All I want is to have my wife ride with me on some of these 500 mile lunch rides that the Fl. crew does. She will be ALOT more COMFORTABLE on an ultra, right?
Forget what Your stepson say's and get the Limited!!!! You will be Happy!
OK, now. My amateur psychologist side has kicked in...as a father of two and step father of three more, all ranging from 9 to 36 I have some experience in subtle communication....so please take this with a grain of salt, skepticism and humor. I am beginning to think that maybe, just maybe your son subconsciously wants a Heritage...(?) SO, offer to him that you buy him a brand spanking new Heritage in exchange for his SG....then after a brief time take the SG in and trade it for an Ultra......
If this plan is too complicated...then just ask him straight up why he is suggesting this....If this doesnt work then the final solution is to get your daughter in law and your wife together and ask them exactly just what is your son thinking...I guarantee you that one or both of them know! Then you at least know just what the heck is going on....
The truth shall set you free! Or, just go get the ultra
Go Ultra, you'll be glad you did. Much more comfortable for your passenger, and actually more comfortable for you too. Cruise, heated grips, tourpak, hard saddlebags to protect your stuff, stereo, CD, and on and on. If you're doing two up riding, it's definitely the way to go.
Ultras are great, Street Glides are great, Road glides are also.
whatever you do, buy one from the touring family.
An Ultra with a removable tourpac leaves you with options.
Add a tourpac and lowers to a Road Glide.
