>>I myself dont need built in GPS, ABS, premium stereo, and airbag<<
I also owned an 05. And you wouldn't get one w/ a CB , CD,heated seat and grips,etc for 16..
I believe my statement was,a loaded up Wing with all those things you don't need was around 25 and I stand by my statement.
Agreed, a std Wing is cheaper but that is not what I was talking about.
Im new to riding motorcycles . What i question now is did i make the right choice? I Was going to buy a goldwing before buying a 2009 ultra. Only two thing i dont like about the ultra. Is Excess heat and lack of power. I know there is a lot power up grades. At the risk of loosing the warranty. When up-grade's arn't done by Harley-Davidson.
Lets see.............................Buy a car with 2 wheels or a Real motorcycle?
.....remind yourself; It's about the trip, not just the destination.....
GoldWing v Ultra, Ultra v GoldWing, Ultra v GoldWing, GoldWing v Ultra, Goldwing v Ultra, Ultra v GoldWing
.....remind yourself, ... it IS about the trip !
That's why they make so many different brands and models.
For me the Harley is the only choice at this point in my life. I like the name, I like the history, I like HOG, I like the look and I especially like the dealer network across the country.
I keep hearing about the lack of power and call me strange but I do 80% of my riding two up and I have never once in just over 20K miles now on a Harley felt that I needed more power. And I am a HP guy with a boat that has 1800 horsepower and a Jeep with a V8. All three of my Harley's have the 96CI engine and do a great job of getting me to the speed limit quickly and around slower traffic if needed.
As for the added heat on the 2010 yeah that is not good but so far I have lived with it and will continue to do so because there is no other bike/brand that appeals to me.
God Bless Harley
God Bless America
Happy New Year

Lock pick, let me tell ya; I have owned a 2005 BMW K1200LT, a 2007 Goldwing Airbag, and now a 2010 Ultra Limited. The Bimmer was great at high speed, but I hated the low speed handling (God forbid you let the rear tire pressure get low; terrible head shake). The Goldwing absolutely HAULED ***, but just too dang busy and the ride felt numb. Felt like gliding across ice on a piece of glass. Great for some, but no soul as far as I was concerned. The 2010 Ultra Limited is the best bike I have EVER owned. I am absolutely done searching (to this, I'm sure my wife and dad are rolling their eyes ;-) ) The power is more than sufficient, the sound and feel are perfect and it handles like a "Weeble" (remember "Weebles wallow, but they don't fall down"? OR, did I just date myself? ;-) Seriously, the best big bike I've owned. If You are really looking for FAST, buy a Hayabusa and call it good. But, stop to remind yourself; It's about the trip, not just the destination. Be safe....
I have had oh about 6 bikes in my life which include honda, kawasaki and harley. I have now had three harleys in my life and would have nothing other. My last harley, 2007 fatboy, i bumped the engine to 103 ci. It was done by Head Quarters through my dealer. Fantastic results. No charts to show you but believe me, 106hp 115tq. Fantastic low end. Did it during winter (kansas) and got it done for about $3000 total, including labor.
Love the harley, the people, the events. Live in America, Buy American bikes!!!
Exactly what kind of answers do you want, being this is an HD forum. If you wanted a Gold Wing you should have bought one. A Gold Wing is just another bike a Harley is a way of life.
Either bike is a pretty big bike to start with. With either bike it will take a few years of riding before you can ride it anywhere near it's potential. These are big heavy touring bikes, either one has more than enough power for its intended purpose. Get a XR1200 or Triumph Steet Triple for blasting around on and save your Ultra for the highway and trips.
