103 starting problems
I'm with check the tune. Your timing may be a little too agressive. I've experienced no problems at all with starting issues. I had a talk with my tuner and told him I'm not racing the bike but will be Touring and general around town duties. Hope this helps. My hp is 82 and torque is 98. Pretty much what HD says this setup will deliver.
The starter may just not have the sack to turn it over.Ive read where some have solved this by going to a starter off a 110".

What is the tuner doing to make starting easier? Is he retarding the timing at 500 rpm? If so and if you have SEST or a PCV you could perform that task yourself. I thought about doing that on my 255 setup (TC96, stock compression) but I'm not having starter issues. I might try it anyway, as I can't see how it would hurt anything and should take some strain off the starter. If anyone has tried it, how much retard are you using?
