Ok, if I got a bike without cruise. I know your supposed to be able to add it "Plug and Play" from 08 on with the TBW. Do you have to have a download to the PCM (or ECM) which ever it's referred to as. To make it work after you install? Or does it just automatically see it has cruise now and it'll start working? (reason I ask is a salesman I just talked to today thought if I bought a new bike that didn't have it, and spent 250.00 on cruise from ebay from a dealer, I'd still have more invested because he thinks it would need to be flashed.
I'm installing cruise on my 09 FLHP right now. According to the instruction it requires that the cruise may need to be turned on by a dealer. Since the Police models have a different harness, I also need an adapter kit.
Ah, gotcha, so crap. If I got it for 250 but still had to pay an hours labor at the dealer to get it "Activated" I'd have more in it than if it came with it.
Thanks
Good luck with your install!
I have never had a computer hook up fee from a dealer, so I couldn't tell you how much they would charge. I was quoted the price of the cruise plus one hours labor if they sold/installed the cruise. I was planning on installing the kit and then having the dealer do the computer work if needed with my next service.
I purchased kit from lshd1.com at 20% off because local dealer doesn't run specials until mid year. If they want to charge too much for the work I have several Indy shops that I'm sure would love to have my business.
