So My previous bike I had Lined up fell through today ('05 roak king custom) due tot the owner adding $1000 to the price when I told him I was ready to buy (guy at work I knew). I said screw that and went to craigs list.
I found a 2006 road king custom in vivid black, all stock except SE pipes with a download and some highway pegs. Only has 2283 miles on her, started right up and looks brand new. Oly paid $13,000!!! He also threw in a helmet, a cover and the service manual for it. He bought a 2008 SE Road King and forgot about riding the other one, lucky me.
I feel like it was one hell of a deal, am I right? Its practically brand new. With that in mind, other than a fluids change, what else should I look at? He said it was started and ridden every 2-3 weeks around the block a few times, and the oil was changed last season.
No worries there, I will definately read the manual before I do anything. Rode sportbikes for a few years, I know there are lots of differences.
I will have a pic up on Friday, I have to do the bank paperwork tomorrow and they will overnight me the check (USAA doesn't have any local branches). For some strange reason the guy wants the money first..........
weird how the guy would want the money first...hehe. Congrats and that sucks the guy raised the price the last minute. Totally shows he's hurtin for money AND that he lacks credibility.
Have fun with the new ride and remember, don't ride it like a sportbike.

With USAA you can print an electronic check out off the computer within minutes of approval. I did it for my corvette that I bought this fall. Just FYI in case you are in a hurry to pick it up.
