Project 124
Here's a look at the TMan "Stage 3" oil pump. It's called a Stage 3 because it has three (3) gerotor gear sets instead of the traditional two (2) sets. What he did was separate the return into two individual circuits, with one of them dedicated to the sump. Very cool!

Here it is in the cases. Ya can see new Torrington B-148's (inner cam bearings) above the pump, on the back wall of the cam chest.

Here's a look at the TR590 roller chain conversion cams in the camplate, ready to "go home".

Here's the camplate installed, with outer gears, roller chain, & tensioner installed. BE SURE you align the oil pump before you put the gears on ~ or you'll be back in here! Also, be sure to take the time to properly align the top (cam) gear with the crank gear, by using the proper shim between the plate & inside of the gear…. and be sure you lube things up with assembly grease before closing it up (this includes cam lobes, both chain/gear/tensioner, etc).

Should'a mentioned this earlier, but better late than never. Get yourself a thread chasing / cleaning kit from Sears. It's inexpensive and your hardware will love ay for it! Run a chaser over all the bolts to remove loctite remnants, burs, etc. Also run a chaser into all the threaded case holes to clean them out too!

Now the cam cover (nose cone) is back on.

Here's a cool new HPI oil filter standoff that has plumbing for the oil cooler built in. It's also "advertised" of flow something like 50% oil than any other adapter. Looks good too!

Here the adapter installed on the case.

I reckon since this is the 5th build I've done on this motor, it's about time to replace the stock cylinder studs. TR recommended the Fuelings, as they are actually ARP's. It's a nice package.

Here's the first four (4) studs, installed. Dunno if ay can tell from pics, but these look and feel much different than the stockers and are much higher tensile strength. Unlike the S/E studs, these actually have the ridge on the bottom set of threads so there's none of that "drop a ball bearing in before the stud" crap involved with these.

I also verified deck height, and it's right on the money ~ dead on zero, not "proud", not "in the hole". That's it for today. Just in time to watch the final 25 lap run of the Toyota Challenge @ Irwindale!

Gonna throw my 590's in as soon as the runout tool my Dad bought from Fueling gets here. Should be this week sometime.
Good tip on the thread chasing kit.

Not sure why the pics are kinda crummy today. Guess lighting is lower or something.
A look from the right side:

And the left:

Finally... here's how it sits when I'm not working on it. You may have noticed the big red bag in the background in previous shots.

That's probably all I'll get to do until after next weekend.
