Project 124
Actually, if the case had not been drilled all the way thru, I would not be using one there at all. As it is, I'm just gonna be using it to "plug the hole". It has been documented, that this bolt can cause slight deformation of the bottom of the cylinder sleeves. That won't be the "case" (HAHA) on mine, because I'm just gonna snug it enough to safely stay in place and do it's job of stopping weapage from those holes.
I am really curious to hear of a comparion bewtween your old tq hitting monster to a motor that will rev further out the rpm range. Ed tuning this on as well?
Love the pics, keep them coming.

I've been talking to George & I sure wish JD's were closer, but I am lucky to have quality tuning resources locally! If, for whatever reason, we can't get it "just right"… I'll be head'n up that way, or to NC to let TR's shop tweak on it. Having said that.. I have no reason to believe that'll be necessary.
Keep an eye on Grampa… he's eyeing the 124 & I think he's gonna be in for one soon.

In his initial post you can see where the o-ring lip has been cut-out of the case.
It looks to me like there isn't enough "meat" left to cut a new o-ring groove...thus the base gasket.
I'd be interested to know if using a gasket changes his torque value for the heads, though.
I use the standard torque spec's provided by Cometic for their MLS gaskets ~ several small steps, up to final value of 42ft/lbs.

On another note - You built my motor - Known me for over a year and still went with no bling on the jugs and the heads??
What am I gonna do with you?
Come on Dre...
I got some barz, I got some cowbells, & several more covington parts..... You should know by now, I move slow on some stuff...

BTW - I also have some cams, a TB, and..... what was that other thing discussed earlier...???...
I can't quite remember... help me.....
Seems like it had something numeric about it...????....
Does Ed's dyno go up as high as this thing will probably take it? You're gonna blow the drum off that dyno! LOL!!!

Good luck with the new build -- folks here (you know who they are) are already secretly contacting T-Man.
Can wait until that thing hits the ground.
