I've seen enough replies to say I'm in, and definitely heading to Thunder Beach. We'll take the turnpike and I-75 to get up to Ocala, then take 27 for a while. I like water, so I'm thinking about taking US 98 along the coast all the way to PCB. That's gonna take a while. Has anybody ridden on 98, and is it worth the time?
Hey rdam - where is Topsail Hill. I am camping (RV) at St. Andrews State Park at PCB. Its really a nice campground and its right there. Check it out on the net.
It's west of PCB. Consistently rated one of the best RV campgrounds in the country. All paved roads and sights. Always jammed for Thunder on the Beach.
Have'nt stayed at St Andrews yet but I heard it's great.

Ok here's the skinny. I have been for the last 7 or 8 spring rallys. Went once through Key West (I live in West TN). I have never enjoyed it but I am going back to try it once again just to see if I can have some fun. I do go to Newby's just about every night I'm there, it is no fun either, I always wind up getting to bed way to early in the morning and smell like beer. If you are looking at taking 98 all the way through the panhandle you will not regret it, that is the way we rode on the way from the Keys, we usually go down through Mobile and hit 98 as quick as we can cause it is beautiful riding that road. You can be your own judge about the rally, but I never have any fun. LOL
Hey c6zo6 - I'm up for it...you lead the way again and I'll buy the first round. Great place and an enjoyable ride over. Do they still have the horseshoe pit out back!

beats the interstates... you will go through several small towns and country roads
