Default Tune question 2010 flhx

Putting on Rush 2.0 and Screamin Eagle AC. Dealer could do full tune with tts mastertune or he said he could just load a map for my setup, do a couple of dyno runs to check AFR and stuff for 300 less. Should I full tune or not. He said it would be 99% accurate with just the map and if I didn't like it within 30 days he'd put the cost towards the full tune.

Thanks but I really don't want a power commander or anything else I need to plug in. I just planned on retuning my current ecm

I think the map download will work fine! Get it done and ride it. See how it feels seat of the pants. Check your fuel mileage. If everything checks out leave it alone. If you are not satisfied, take it back for the full dyno tune. A full dyno tune is usually around 400$. You may save a 100 bucks. If you don't want the hassle get the full tune done.

If you want the best performance out of your bike go with the tune. If you aren't really into that stuff save the money and stick with the download. If you plan on doing future performance upgrades go with the tune. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the download is 99% accurate, I would say that your bike should run fine with it, if anything, you might have some decel popping.

Go with the full tune. You spent a fortune on the bike, make it run right.

However, if you're ever planning on upgrading the cams, etc. later on down the road you might want to drop the $300.00 on the Power Commander. It's very user friendly (I've installed around 10 on brother's bikes) and is easy to re-map is you make any changes in the future.

Ride safe.

This is an easy answer. Dealer is giving you an option. Try the map, ride it, see how you like it. If you dont like it then he will credit you towards a full tune.

If he goes for the full tune he might as well go with the TTS his dealer is recommending.

Depends on your confidence level of your dealer tuning capabilities. The new 2010 bikes do not tune the same as the other model year Delphi's. There has been a big enough change that I would be concerned about how the dealer plans on doing the tune. Ask them some questions, how are you collecting the MAP data corresponding to the RPM data? Another more specific to TTS is how are you collecting the Lambda data and at what stoich value. 99% accurate is a stretch with any canned tune file IMO.
