Okay planning on taking some pretty long trips this summer with the old lady and I would like to get a detach backrest to make sure she's comfortable. Happy wife = Happy life. Anyway did some pricing on the good old HD Website. I can't believe the F*&%ing price!!!
$239.95 #52610-09 Short Sissy Bar Upright
$199.95 #54205-09 4 Point Docking Hardware
$145.95 #51579-05 Passenger Pad Low Profile
$61.95 #52825-05 Pad Mounting Hardware
$647.80 and God forbid that I might want to add the new Stealth Luggage Rack for another $398.95. Ridiculous!! Anything available in the aftermarket? I did some checking and found a few but nothing that I really fancied.
Yeah, I hear ya. It is flippin incredible what they charge. Yeah, it's great quality and works as advertised, but still!
You can try Chicago HD...just enter the part number and they spit-out a price (usually 10%-20% lower). if you want something else...man...take you pick of aftermarket. Try Eastern Performance...and others.
I feel your pain man. You can buy the HD stuff online and save 20% plus tax from these folks. Who knows they may even throw in shipping if you ask nice enough?
http://www.saukprairiehd.com/default.asp I ordered my rack, backrest, docking hardware, and sissy bar through these guys 20% + free shipping, still a kick to the pocket book but whadyado.
+1 for online ordering. I buy all my online parts from Zanotti Motor. I'll take the 20% and no sales tax over my dealer's 10% + sales tax Rider Rewards card any day.
