Is there 4k worth of options? Tell the true I don't know what the differences are between the two models other than paint options and the 103.
I know the 103 is a base without cam upgrades ( without cams, tuner, exhaust, ect. ) Other than that I am curious myself. Someone please enlighten us.. If it is just paint a person could get a $700 103 bore and really nice custom paint for 3k.
I was thinking about one, but after looking at it realistically I just didn't want all that extra stuff that it comes with, other than those awesome looking chrome wheels, and I wasn't that crazy about the lines of the paint scheme either. Also, from a review I've read, there isn't much noticeable difference with the 103 engine either.
For me, the regular Ultra with no options was just right for the money (which was still a helluva lot!).
I bought a Limited rather than the UC. The price difference isn't all that much when you compare the bikes with similar options:
Two Tone UC (21,999) + Security (370) + ABS (845) = $23,214
A difference of $1,485 between the Ultra and the Limited.
Two Tone Classic (19,959) + Security (370) + ABS (845) + Cruise (295)= $21,469
A difference of $3,230 between the Classic and the Limited
The relatively small difference in price for the "extras" included on the Limited was worth it to me. Heck, the NY State sales tax was over $2,000 and I got nothing in return for that.
It's really a personal choice. I know dealers are discounting Ultras more than Limiteds so perhaps the price difference is hard to justify. Personally I was just happy to not do the big bore mods and have a factory built engine. Ultimately it's just money right?!
