YESW. LOOK AT TOP OF KS AND YOU WILL SEE A TAB THAT GOES INTO A SLOT. THE BIKE WILL MOVE 2-3 INCHES EITHER WAY DEPENDING ON IF YOU ARE DOWNHILL OR UPHILL BUT IF LOCKED IT WILL NOT FALL. JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE STAND IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY FORWARD BEFORE LEANING IT OVER ON THE STAND.

I always give mine a nudge with my toe to be sure it is all the way forward before I get off..........good habit to get ! Sometime you'll get distracted when you pull up....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's my understanding that HD actually has a patent on the locking mechanism for the sidestand.

It would not surprise me, since to my knowledge HD is the only bike that will start in gear without the clutch engaged. I did read an earlier post that the 07 models will not start in gear unless the clutch is engaged.

At the P.D. where I work this past July 4th. One of our motor guys was taking a left at a intersection at fairly slow pace when the kickstand malfuntioned and went down. The kickstand stuck on the pavement and jack-knifed the bike. He broke both of his wrists and bruised his ankle pretty bad. He was riding a 2006 Harley.
