Default RKC Windshield Decal

I was thinking of either tinting or put some sort of decal on the Windshield... The idea came to me after seeing some police bikes some had a black ting on the lower part of the windshield, others had "POLICE" or "SHERIF" on the lower part of the windshield...

Has anyone done something similar? any ideas? My bike is now almost completely accessorized by Willie G skull collection... would a skull decal look good?

I'd go with some dark tint.

I painted the lower portion of my shield (inside) black so as to hide the windshield bag. I think it looks much cleaner.

Go with a Memphis Fats tinted black at the bottom. I think they are about $80 and you can use your old hardware.

How about one of those auto windshield/rear window decals?
A friend of mine has an Army one on his Softail Classic.

+2 on the Memphis shades replacement shield. They are far better quality than the stock shield, and have a nice tint. Got mine from an on-line dealer on sale for about $70 shipped.

I just used regular old flat black rattle can paint, couldn't tell ya the brand. (It looks like gloss from the front though, through the shield) I masked off the shield and used a sander to scuff the surface for paint. I then used a piece of that clear protective film stuff over the paint (the stuff folks use for rock chips, to keep the windshield bag from rubbing through the paint). Local detail shop gave me a scrap piece for free.

I'm just about to replace my shield and will be doing the same thing again but I'm going to skip the film. Instead I'll just use 2 sided tape to keep the windshield bag tight against the shield.
