I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this, But I need to save my buddy. He just bought a 2010 StreetGlide and is going to take it to a local guy to get 103, headwork, cams etc.. He is being promised 105hp/115tq. The local tech talked my buddy into a SERT and the cams are from HQ. I've told my buddy to call some other places to see if his combo will work (this is a bagger and the last one this tech did was better suited to a dyna). I just think he's not going to be happy.
If any body has some engine combos that have dynoed them Please let me know so he can go with a proven combo. I have tried to talk him into calling Branch flow metrics (I have only heard good things about them) but he wants power now and honestly has a head like a rock lol. If I can show him some proven combos maybe he will see the light.
Thanks in advance and sorry again if this is in the wrong place.
Dont have what you are looking for but take him to doc slicks in buford and see Wilson, from what im told he is the ****... He can show you plenty of dyno sheets and is very knowledgable (sp?)
Another option is to contact Fast Freddy, he does all the heads for Fraziers HD...his direct # is 770-572-9098, Fred Heathen. Good guy, great work and prices as well
It's great that you want to help,, but if he is going to spend that kind of cash, without any research as it seems..... well sorry.
I doubt you can change his mind... he must have cash to burn!
I certainly would do my homework before spending that much cash!
while Wilson did a good job putting my HQs 103 together (2006) he completely ruined two of my two club brother's bikes. One had his motor powder coated prior to the build -- the internal motor was not cleaned prior to putting together; the motor blew up on the dyno on his second try he was supposed to get the crank trued and welded, it did not happen. Second bike leaked oil from the base gaskets after 500 miles, same thing with the crank. Kevin is the service manager at Granite Mtn HD, if I was doing anything HQs I would take it there; he oversees every motor build. He built two 107's for me.
