I never lock it when in the garage, but then again, anyone that can steal it from my garage, without losing a leg or more, can have it...the Rotwieller lives in the garage...
LMAO! Nothing says "your not stealing my bike" like a rotwieller waiting to feast on some S.O.B.
Anyway, I use to live in a sh!thole neighborhood. Now I don't, but still have that habit of locking up everything.
Never lock it at home in the garage
almost never lock it a work
always lock it when I in town or at a restaurant
use alarm and lock when on the road overnight
do want to lose my ride just know that if thief is going to get it they will!
I will not live in fear of losing material things.
Home is the only place I don't lock it. I always set the alarm though as I rode off w/o any keys before. Once to work. Anyone could have had it that day.
I live in a nice area I guess. I've left my keys in the ign of my car at my house too.
Lock it every time. I like my bike too much to have it stolen. Insurance claims suck and I'd rather ride than walk, even for a short time. Where I live has nighttime security patrols but I still lock and alarm it, even when we're done playing for the day and it's put up in the gararge, in the same building as the security office.
Never lock it in my garage. At work in public garage I lock and set alarm, but leave XM mounted and triple pocket on wind screen full of coins, gum, etc. On trips w/friends I usually do not lock it or set the alarm or remove anything like XM Radio. Overnight out of town parking I lock it up and set the alarm.
I never lock it in the garage. They would have to get my truck out of the way to pull the bike out. Never lock it at work, it's a secure compound. But out in town, I always lock it.
My brother was telling me the other day that when he was shopping for insurance for his Dyna Wide Glide that one of the places he talked to asked if he was parking his bike in a garage or outside. When he inquired about this he was told that it would cost more for garage storage because most owners don't lock their bikes when they put them into their garage and as a result there is a higher theft rate from garages than from car ports. Thinking about this I realized that I do this and changed my practice. So I am wondering how many others do not lock their bikes when they park in their garage?
If your bike gets stolen, it will be boo hoo, how could it happen to me???
Have you ever been robbed? Well, I have, $30,000 dollars of loss, two years of fighting with the insurance goofs, and I never got near what the value was.
Take one second of your precious lives, and turn a key. What, you think you're a tough guy, and no one will screw with your ride? Get a grip!
