HD leather pants for me, have for a log time, still work for me on trips....local still wearing jeans...not much protection there.....but I'm only 4 miles to work and it'll take longer to put on and take off chaps or pants then the ride....
I've always heard the FXRG stuff is good....
Also have a HD leather mesh jacket, that I like very much.
I have a pair of jeans style leather pants that have a light nylon lining down to above the knees. They are comfortable except when stopped in the heat. I wear shorts under them in the summer and carry a pair of sneakers with me. If we're stopping for lunch or whatever, off come the boots and pants.
I just go a pair of Olympia AirGlide Mesh over pants with protection for the hips and knee armor. They have accordion pleats at the hips so they can be worn alone or over pants. Cool pants especially with shorts on underneath.
Chaps work fine all year around. If you go down, your *** should still be on the seat,so all the whining about being vulnerable is weak.Had chaps on in the last wreck,at 65 mph, still wearing 'em.Xelement's black denim pants, with stretch panels in the seat, inner thigh, are a great riding pant, tough and comfortable, cool in hot weather. They come armored, but I took all that crap out.
