Default XStream Windshield Issue

Before anyone jumps on me, I have send an email to Longride about this and I'm awaiting a response.
I received my 10', medium tint XStream windshield today. I love the color, the clarity and the general shape of the shield. The weather won't allow a test ride just now, so that may be another issue entirely.

Upon installing the shield, all three bolts lined up perfectly, but looking from above, the shield's curve does not follow the curve of the fairing. With all three bolts installed and tight, I have a significant gap between the shield and the outer fairing, in between the bolts. I measured the gap at between 1/8th and 3/16th of an inch. Obviously, this gap would not prevent and rain etc. entering the fairing.

Has anyone else come across this? I am presuming that I have the Mark 2 version as I only ordered it last week.

Are you sure you aren't hitting the inner fairing retaining nut insert round plastic, not sure I'm saying that right but their are round and windshiel has to fit over them. Loosen it up as well as the fairing torx and adjust. The windshield will flex enough to fit the inner fairing unless the outside bolts are forcing it out.

This makes sense...You may have to enlarge the two outer holes a little to fit around the fixed retainer nuts

Are you sure you have windshield pushed down all the way. If you are clamping on the winndshield it would cause this. Loosen the bolts and pull windshield to the front of outer fairing and press down. it should sit in the cut outs in the windshield nice and easy

I doubt the windshield is stout enough to hold the inner and outer fairing apart if it is in the correct position. It sounds like an alignment issue to me.

That's a mistake I have made on the first try several times I have changed windshields. Sometimes I don't even realize the windshield wasn't lined up perfect until the next time I take it off and see the evidence.

Matt from Long Ride was VERY prompt in responding to me and I applaud him for that. He asked me to send some pics and I have included one here.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I tried several times and made double sure that everything was properly aligned. I think it's just a minor manufacturing problem and probably just a singular event.

You're right. That's no good. Water will get in between the fairings too easy. Looks like a quality control issue to me.
