Pig spit and S100 for me also. Another tip I picked up somewhere: Avon Skin So Soft removes the white wax smudges from the black engine cases. Just spray it on and dab with a clean cotton rag-viola! the ugly white wax smudge is gone.
I like to take the time to do atleast 2 or 3 good "full-dip" detail sessions each riding season. While you're getting close up and personal with the bike it's a good time to inspect for loose hardware, rubbing wires or anything else that just doesn't look good in between maintenance schedules.
i found the best way is to run it through the automatic car wash. Make sure it is the kind that has the cloth brushes and not the plastic ones. Wear a full face helmet and a rain suit. Make sure you get the underbody wash and wheel blaster. Don't run your engine while in the car wash, When you get to the dryers, it's a blast!
I've no idea how the wife does it, but she keeps it nice and clean....
.
LMMFAO! My buddy always says, that's why God gave them those little hands and fingers, (and to make your unit look bigger, although he doesn't tell that joke in front of his wife)
BTW, simple green, hose then pig spit here.
I'm like Shack (post 33) - I do some real deep cleaning now and then, but keeping it clean is easier than scrubbing gunk, tar and whatnot. Little hard spots I miss one time will get hit the next. I'm only **** about all you can see and try to keep up the rest.
Polishing the chrome in the back spots like tranny covers and rocker boxes I put a microfiber clothe around a ladies plastic hair comb and/or a toothbrush. Gets everything you can see. One of the guys put a piece of CPVC pipe over his toothbrush handle, making it longer - thot that was cool.
