Looking to add higher wattage bulb to headlight as I have done in the past, but would like to verify my thoughts.
I believe the headlight circuit is 15 amps and usually it is ok to go to at least 10 amps continuous. If I go with an 85/80 watt bulb the current draw given P(watts) = I(amps) x V(volts) should be I = P/V which would give me 7.08 amps on high beam. This appears to be less than half of the max instant current limit or fuse of 15 amps.
Am I off base or is there another limiting component like the dimmer switch.
