My buddy calls me last night and says he's got water in his oil. He had just washed his bike at a car wash. I was asleep when he called and told him I'd call him back today. What's the most likely way he got the water in his oil?
High pressure spray isn't good. Gaskets and seals aren't designed for that high of pressure.
It is also possible to wash the grease out of bearings, and penetrate electrical connectors.
Is it water or just condensation? Riding the bike for only short distances keeps the oil from warming up and burning off any moisture that builds up in the system.
Most likely the oil filler cap was not tight. Drain the oil,any water in the tank will drain out. Then run, it any water still in it will evaporate as it gets up to temp. I have a 07 ultra that I bought wrecked, with the oil filler cap loose when I drained the oil I got about a quart of water out. No issues in the last 12,000.

My thoughts exactly. This time of year it's worse than in summer, because of the size of the temperature swings.
Take a can of beer out of a refrigerator, what do you see on it?
Picked up a used Sportster, a yr ago, that the dealer had had for six months. Every day they had run the motor for no more than one minute to bring the bike out of the back to the front of the store. When I picked the bike up I asked for, and got an extra four quarts of oil cause I expected the condensation problem. The next day when I drained the oil from the cold engine, at least 8 oz of clear water came out of the drain tube before any oil. Granted, this is extreme cause the bike had been started 100+ times without ever warming the engine but condensation does occur.
