Default Power Commander Install - No start

Just finished installing a Stage 1, Power Commander PCIII, and drag fishtails on my '07 King. Downloaded the map successfully.
Bike started up fine, idled fan, gave it some throttle fine, hit the throttle a second time and it quit. Now it won't start.
Wanted some thoughts on the situation, so I can get on the case later today. Thanks.

Handlebar kill switch corrosion, pump fuse (if you can't hear it cycle when you turn on the ignition), is there any gas in it? Hate to ask such an obvious thing but a friend of mine had the dealer come get his bike because it wouldn't start. Turns out you never refuel it if all you do is fire it up in the garage to try and impress the girls....

Did you disconnect it and try to start it again?

What 07RoadHog said, plus...

When you try to start it, does the starter activate or is it completely dead? If dead, check your handlebar on-off switch. Don't laugh, as this has been the oversight once or twice in the past.

If it cranks but no start, have you tried starting it without the PCIII installed?

I'm still at work, but I'll be looking at it again this evening. However, I'm positive it has a full tank of fuel, and the bike turns over, just doesn't fire up. I plan to plug the stock ECU back in and see if it fires, then also check the multi-pin connection. I'l listen for the pump. Thanks

One other thing you might check too is the quick disconnect fuel fitting under the back left of the tank where the petcock would be on a carb bike. Mine popped off one day after I had to raise the tank for some reason and I didn't get it re-engaged good enough. Bike fired up, idled for a bit then died. That thing comes loose and no fuel gets to the injectors.

A blown ECM fuse was causing it not to start. Idles fine with stock ECM connected. Idles real bad with PCIII installed, map downloaded. The canned map from Dynojet is supposed to be close, but man it runs bad, real bad. I guess the next option is get it on the dyno and just get it tuned in ($270).
Maybe the map is just way off? I need one that matches my setup-Stage1, Fishtail Slip-On Drags. Dynojet suggested the Stage1, Khrome WERKS +100 Slip-Ons. All I know is that it's definately not running correctly.

You might try resetting your closed throttle value. It's been a while since I messed with a PCIII, so I'm not sure exactly which menu to go to, but it's in the user's guide. If that checks out ok, it very well could be the map, but IMO different pipes really shouldn't make too much of a problem with an idle. You do have the O2 eliminators installed, right?

Well, I'll tell you my dumass story. I went out to the garage one morning installed the PCV. It was easier than I thought it'd be, but when I went to fire her up, she wouldn't turn over, the lights just flashed, then went dead. I panicked for a second or two, then laughed out loud and went inside to get my key fob. She's been running fine ever since.

Good suggestion, but I doubt if the throttle-position setting would be off enough to make it idle poorly. To the OP, check the PCIII connectors and make sure no pins have been bent. Here's the procedure to set the throttle positions:

1. Connect the 9V adapter to the PCIII and the USB to the PCIII and computer.

2. Start the PC software and go to Power Commander Tools > Set Throttle Position.

3. Switch on the ignition but don't start the bike. In the small window click on Reset, wait a few seconds for 0% to settle, then turn the throttle to 100% (WOT). When the large number in the window settles (a second or two) and click OK.

4. Go to the main window and check that both 0% (idle) and 100% (WOT) are showing correctly with the corresponding throttle inputs. If WOT shows 98-99% don't worry about it, as that's close enough.

TP on non-TBW bikes are usually off quite a bit out of the box (mine showed 6% at idle), so it is important to set it sooner rather than later. FWIW, the procedure for the PCV is the same except there's no 9V adapter. TBW bikes should not use the Reset button, but you should instead manually insert these numbers into the "closed" and "open" boxes:

08-09 Touring:
Closed throttle 0.700 (Minimum Voltage)
Open throttle 4.300 (Maximum Voltage)

I don't have the values for 2010 models.
