First let me say I come to this site all the time to read up when I do my own work. Always is helpful but now I need to post and get some help. I swapped out the bars on my 08 Street Glide today with some "15 inch apes that are s z'd at the top. Internally wired everything which was tough but not terrible. The TBW is now very slow to come up in rpms. Basically it is just not responding like it should. It does come up but not enough to ride. I did extend all the wiring by disassembling the connectors. My check engine light also come on now and stays. I had read something about this the other day on here but now I can't find it. Please help. Thanx.
Did you use the OE sensor or the 32310-08 sensor without the green clip designed for internally wired bars? Possibly the green clip is damaged if you used the OE sensor, or you may have got a pin in the wrong slot on the connector end.
I did use the OE cable and it did come apart the first time I attempted it but went fine the 2nd. If it had separated again, I would think I would be getting nothing but I do have some response
Better check that connector, sounds like its in limp mode. If I use the stock TGS I tape that connector so there is no way it can accidentally come apart.

Thats what I did. Wrapped it in electrical tape so it would not come apart.
Okay, so I still had the fairing off so I went back checked my notes and for some reason I scratched out "Black" and wrote "Brown" and vice versa. Anyhow, I swapped and its working but my check engine light is still on so now we go from here. I hate to admit I messed up that 1 out of 30 connections up but......Thanx for that. Engine light help?
You need to check your trouble codes you probably provoked one with the incorrect wiring there is a link somewhere here to do it if you don't have a manual. It may clear itself when you ride it as some do but it may be one of those codes that remains until cleared.
