you've got a rubber mounted motor which the exhaust system is rigidly mounted to. and the loop off of the frame that goes under your saddlebag is also rigid. that's why and where the exhaust system is allowed to float. if it were rigid, everything would start cracking and giving you trouble. if you notice, the sheet metal part that slides through the rubber below the saddlebags allows for sliding where it needs to be. study it and you'll see how it works. a pretty good solution to allow the mufflers to work without being stressed.

I just put a c-clamp on mine and bent the bracket up to tighten it up. That was months ago and it's still good'n tight. Took about five minutes.

Thanks. My jackpot slip ons should be here later today. For now I will leave the original rubber in place. If there is a problem there seems to be no big thing to swap them out. Again thanks for the imput.

Those rubber baby buggy bumpers are probably the cheapest part you'll ever buy at the dealer. Takes 5 minutes to swap them out.,,

I replaced the rubber mounts due to being loose AND making noise. The noise returned and I got tired of spraying silicone on them. Finally removed the saddle bag guard hanger thingy and put it in a vise and squeezed it together on the top and side to tighten it up. Problem solved, no movement or noise and it will still slide around like it was designed...
