You know it is good that the winter is drawing to an end, spring is just around the corner and for some of us in hibernation, the riding season is a mere few weeeks away (provided you have cold weather gear). That means two things, people will be busy riding and that people will not be glued to these forums because they cannot get out on the bike to ride. It has been a long winter and I agree with one of the other posters...no question is too dumb to ask...seek and ye shall find!

I had a hard time finding my battery, too ('09 RK). Of course, when I looked in the owners' manual it wasn't too hard to find, but it certainly doesn't jump right out at you like on the Dyna. Even just "looking around" I didn't see it. Better to ask the question than go tearing your bike apart to find it, and on mine, if you don't have some inkling that it's under the ECM, you could be a while finding it.

Pull that big 40 amp fuse out before changing your battery, it's behind the triangular shaped cover in front of your left side, hard saddle bag. Good luck.

Do you guys pull the fuse before charging also (assuming you're charging it one the bike)?

Another question: Are all late model HD batteries AMG?

Get one BEFORE attempting to work on your bike.
