Why is the guy an idiot? Here is an afr line of 20% throttle pull on a bike that had the head pipe changed, not the muffler. Even just changing mufflers will alter the way an engine breaths. This afr line was straight before the pipe change. Just my opinion but any bike that has been properly mapped runs better.
(but I would choose another place for my tuning). No way I'd go to the guy that refused to say I can ride it there with simply a pipe change.
Yes you need a tune - No you don't have to trailer it there (it's not that far out of tune).
Motor don't mind explosions. It does it 6000 times per minute sometimes.
Some dealers take the opposite extreme and say you don't need any tune, ever, with "just pipes".
Personally I think he needs a tune, but not by this idiot dealership.
They know not what they speak of, and likely will do a **** poor tune.

What the more experienced guys found out (often after wasting money on poor tunes) is that the tuners "reputation" is more important than any other aspect involved with the tune!
There a so very many guys out there with a dyno and limited knowledge that will happily give you a half hour tune for $300 bucks.
The reason tunes are supposed to cost so much is that a thorough tune takes 5 - 6 hours of effort. They are supposed to run your bike in every gear, tune at low, mid and high rpm's. They are supposed to recreate "on road" conditions and adjust your map in every area (not just at full throttle to make your numbers look high).
You need to find a guy that people are raving about, that are thrilled with his talent.
Tuners are like artists. Some artists paint good, some make ugly paintings. Some singers have talent, some sound like ****. No different with tuners.
A poor tune is akin to not even having a tune. But any smuck with a dyno will happily take your money.
My first tune was at a Dealership. Made a whopping 13 passes on the dyno. Didn't even adjust timing, only AFR. How long can it possibly take to make 13 passes?
Why charge me $300 for a half hours time? It's called "rip-off".
Supposed to adjust timing and AFR, each cylinder seperately, at SEVERAL different rpm ranges. Under load, and not under load. As if you were riding it out on the street, uphill or down hill. Supposed to be perfect when you get the bike back. And should get fantastic mileage during that great performance (if it's tuned right).
You should have a huge grin on your face when you ride it!

WTF? Too much hostility in this post. Not sure if a remap is the answer. The H-D maps are for the H-D pipes and H-D AC not V&H pipes. If you go with the full stage one, consider a PC V or SEST.
My tuner is located about 15 miles away in Beecher Illinois.
He has folks that come from pretty far areas to get their tunes from him.
Not from as far as Florida though! LOL Darn shame you are so far away.
There are too many opinions to make a logical choice on the subject, and too many people telling you what you need to do.
If you are going to remap or add a fuel controller, base it on what you can afford and then expore your options.
Adding a fuel controller will get you a better running bike and if you add an air cleaner, then you can adjust it yourself.
Ask other people what they have done, what it cost and what differance it made.
