How many of you are happy with just running the 2010 Ultra Limited StocK? Are there any things going on that will make you change your mind with the performance (heat, power, i.e)? If so what are you going to do?
my mods have been cosmetic so far and very few. i only have a couple hundred miles on the bike until winter hit, so i have just been agonizing over the winter about stage 1 and cam stuff.
decidied to put a few bucks into my other bike and ride this one stock for a while. at least that is my plan today.
I think it depends on what you expect to get out of the bike. Coming from an early 90's Evo Softail, my new Limited is both a Rolls Royce and a Ferrari!
That said, I wanted a more comfortable seat (Mustang), wanted my GPS mounted cleanly (RAM mount), more storage for when I needed it (Tour Pack Luggage Rack Bag - Saddlemen), a bit more in the way of exaust note but not much (SE Street Performance Slip Ons), a shorter windshield (Fastaire) and a windshield bag (T-Bags). Wanted the floorboards extended (Soos) and 360 highway pegs (Kuryakyn)... and did all of the above!
In the fall, I plan on looking at some heated gear. for now, the only thing I plan on doing is riding it
I had to get rid of the cat. I put V & H Power Duals with oval mufflers on it. Did the SE air, 255 cams and SESTuner. Put my backrest on it. It runs great and I am finished except for highway pegs. The limited is great. A couple of us are going from West Virginia to California and back in June. Can't wait. I had a RG and liked it but the limited with this set-up is perfect for me. See you on the road.
I haven't even picked up my bike yet (hopefully by Friday), but I've already spent a few $$ on different things. Thankfully, I had an Ultra last year, so I've got an idea of what I want to do already.
First things on the list are the rider's backrest (a must, especially if you have a bad back) and the Harley Goodies extensions. This is my 3rd set from HG, and it is amazing how much difference an inch can make when it comes to comfort.
Another item I'll likely order this week is the windshield bag. I had the T-Bags windshield bag on my Ultra, so there's a good chance I'll go back to that setup. I liked the 3 pouches and the way it fit the fairing. With 3 pouches I had room for my cell phone, MP3 player, and my pocket digital camera, without having to worry about all 3 bouncing against each other.
I'll also add a set of Highway pegs, but just not sure which ones. I had the Kury ISO Dually pegs with Longhorn mounts on the Ultra. I also had a set of HD pegs on my bars mounted on the Heritage (two bikes ago), so I may look at those as well.
Other items on my wish list include:
1) Service Manual
2) Chrome fork covers
3) Screamin' Eagle slip-on mufflers
4) Seat -- maybe a Road Zepplin or Harley Hammock, I haven't decided
Then again, I may just keep all the money and spend it on trips instead.
Harley Goodies floorboard extensions was the first mod. Fuel Moto package was next, had to get rid of the cat. Love the bike, looking for a windshield bag now.
