Have mine under the fairing now since 07 with no problem's. One thing though, God forbid if you ever need to be towed, unless it's removed, you will be paying toll's! Bad enough your baby's being towed.

Using the right saddlebacg works for me. I have never gotten a ticket yet in 3 years and my understanding is if you do you just send them back your ID # and they remove it.

I like this idea, just ordered some additional velcro. Not sure I would ever have thought of this

Guys this is just my experience I can't speak for anybody else. When I bought my first bike last year, I called EZ-pass to register my scooter. I spoke to a woman and asked her about this very thing, "What happens if the box doesn't transmit properly?" The woman said not to worry. When you go through the express lanes and there is no box or no transmitter on my person, yes the system snaps my picture, but then it cross references my plate's picture to it's data base and charges my account appropriately. I have found that as long as my vehicles are registered to EZ-Pass I don't even need the box in or on the vehicle. I have had EZ pass for two years now and have had zero issues with them. I have just been trying to figure out what the sense of these boxes are if this is the way it works. Just my two cents fellas, ride safe!

Brillopat,
Do you go through the toll gates that use the bar to block your way?
Here in NYC there are two toll plazas that have gates. They also have old readers that only work when the EZPass in in a front fork or windshield bag. Even if it's in my jacket pocket or I hold it in my teeth it won't read and an attendant has to come over an SLAM it down on the machine to get it to read.

I velcroed my EZ Pass on the inside of the left, lower fairing door of my 2010 SEUC. Works great (it's never missed being picked up since the toll booth receiver is generally on the left side of the toll booth).

Worst case, you can still easily access the transponder if you need to by simply putting the bike in neutral and reaching down to pull out the ES Pass from the lower fairing storage.

BTW, even if you don't have your EZ Pass with you, you can use toll roads since your license plate is linked to your account. So long as there's no toll gate that needs to open you really don't even need to have your EZ Pass with you. The system simply reads your license plate and bills the account.

If you don't have the EZPass linked to the motorcycle plate #, you'll end up with a ticket instead without the transponder
