I will be going down to Grove City, PA next month and I will be picking up a detachable backrest kit at Zanotti's. Price difference is incredible from up here in Ontario, Canada. Just wonderin if anyone knows if I could pick-up a bike jack while I was down there. Any ideas if they sell the J&S model or anything similar. Or if there is any outfit in the area that carries decent bike jacks...Thanks for all the help, always appreciated...
Joe
Don't know if Zanotti's carrys jacks or not, but if you want a J&S, just order one from their web site. I ordered mine on a Monday evening and had it by Thursday noon. Extremely fast service and a really nice jack. Well pleased with mine and worth the money.
Estil, thanks...Yeah, you're right, I just went on their website. Very nice lookin unit. Looks very sturdy and well built. I would like to pick-up something up while down south; every time I have something shipped up to Canada, I get nailed with brokerage fees. Hopefull, I can find something while down there...
I also live in Ontario and send a lot of stuff to the UPS customer care centre in Niagara Falls NY right over the bridge at Lewiston NY. It allows me to send stuff from Zannottis with thier great pricing out of PA and into NY. I declare at the border and use my duty free allowance by usually incorporating a weekend or a vacation . I have never had a problem and this avoids the UPS brokerage fees that are so obscene.
Zannottis ships UPS and it is really easy to track items. There is no sales tax in PA on items shipped out of State or NY and if you use duty free there is no CDN tax either. The savings are quite substantial.
As far as a jack goes Sears has an excellent jack and there is a Harbourfreight store in Buffalo. There is a Sears store in Summitt Park Mall near the Niagara Falls Airport. Great folks. Check Sears website under tools for pricing and availability.
If you are only doing a day trip there is no duty free but paying taxes at the Border on the lower US prices is still a huge saving. Plus you dont risk fines and possible loss of vehicle. I bought a Sears snow blower and declared it and still saved over $250.00 so it was worth it to me. I would not recommend the risk of smuggling.

Good luck
There won't be any duty on a J&S jack because its made in North America. You will pay the tax only when bring it back.
Thanks for all the info guys. Miltonhog: I have never seen a listing for a motorcycle jack on the sears website. I have heard it's a simple but adequate jack. I will be going down to U.S. for 3 days, so I think my duty free allowance is a few hundred bucks any way. Plus, the wifey is coming along too, so should work out. Thanks again...

This one might be worth considering. It's on sale for $70.
