So this was just mentioned in a recent thread. Anyone out there have one of these? I like being able to clean the element with a solvent and reusing it.
I used to run one on my race bike (Hayabusa) because I would normally drain the oil after each race at the track to clear out any of the clutch fibers that got chewed up during the launches.. It worked well and would also let you know if you were having any bearing issues when flakes started showing up.
I haven't found a need to put on on the harley, I don't go through that many filters to justify it..
Spec from their (K&P) web site: "The medical grade stainless steel cloth that we use is consistent across the entire media surface and is rated at 35 microns." I believe that I read that the correct Harley filter is 10 microns.
Stainless media and paper are measure differently from what they told me. I have been running one for a while and love it. If you would see what it traps in there you wouldnt hesitate to run it at all. Dan Baisley highly recomends them, that was good enough for me.
