Filter may have been K&N but the back plate itself is cast in China from my understanding.

I have a K&N on a S/E base, does just fine. Mine is just a lowly '03 88.
'03 RK Anniv. Ed., Monster Ovals and Fuelpak, DCC fairing, Mustang Seat, K&N on S/E base, W1 RKII Bars, Tourpak and Thunderstar wheels.

Call and talk to Tim. Great guy IMO. Several members here have and love the Doherty AC. Pure performance and a a VERY nice piece of work. Not cast like many others.
