As stated, the Kury will overheat; the Badlands Illuminator will not. If your need to use your flashers with the Kury you will probably burn it out; not so with the Badlands. I know this from personal experience.

I used Biketronics when I did my LED conversion and has worked fine so far. But then yesterday was the first time out of the garage since i finished the bike.

Default badlands

question, the signals are just an led running light I found will they also be incorperated as a stop lights? they are amber. For now I still have the stock tail light but will change it when I find something I like. Also is the TSSM the thing by the battery onder the seat? Does the badlands replace that?

Badlands doesn't replace anything, it is added by plugging it in under the seat. You cannot run an amber running light on the rear, only on the front. You CAN add as many red running lights as you want though on the rear. If you want your new lights to be run/turn/brake, you will need to wire them "after" the Badlands. Your stock lights & signals will be converted by the Badlands Illuminator. The Badlands can take whatever you throw at it. Here's what mine is controlling, not pictures are my new saddlebag spoiler L.E.D.'s.

Default clarify

I dont actually want them on as running lights just as signals. So if a tssm is possibly acting up I could need that and the illuminator correct?

If all I want is to run led signals and not have them act as stop lights the illuminator handles that? Sorry to ask so many questions guys the hard mechanical and body are easy for me....electrical not so much.

Default I think I figured it out

it looks like the biketronics BT101 just does the load EQ and the badlands does that and the stop tail blinker conversion. So if I want to be lazy and cheap and not change the amber led's I have already installed the BT one may be what I want. I hope the quality is there that the badlands has, I looked at the badlands site and dont see a product like the BT101 am I missing something? Also the dash and gauges and signals not working must be a seperate issue maybe a tssm acting up. Thanks again for the guidance guys.

Hi guys. oldish thread, but recently I started having problems with my blinkers. I've had Kuryaken mini-bullet LED's on (front & rear) for about 3 years, with load equalizer, with no problems, and a Russ Wernimont cat-eye tail/brake light. A few months ago, the right side blinkers started flashing fast, with the security key symbol illuminating in the dash-the left side was OK. If left side used, normal flash rate, and no key symbol on dash. If right side used, rapid flash rate & key symbol illuminates & stays on until ignition switched off.
I replaced the load equalizer by going to my local electronics store, buying 2 resistors, 2 diodes & some large heat shrink tube. Result is exactly the same.
Could this be a TSSM issue, or a dodgy solder joint somewhere? My bike is rather heavily customised.
Any help appreciated. Cheers, Mike

Once you correct the suspected fault, which it sounds like you did, you have to clear the code from the previous problem or it will continue to display. Scrap the resistors and get a digital all in one equalizer module from one of the reputable companies.

Found the fault. It was a dodgy soldered joint (mine) on the join between the load equalizer & the right side flasher. Easy fix, but I'm also going to install a Badland solid state load equalizer unit. The resistor style get very hot, and eventually fail. I want something virtually foolproof. I've spent too many dollars on this bike to start cutting corners.
Cheers, Mike
