I have them and like them alot. Some don't like the grip angle, but it works for me. Think of your hand position when pushing a wheel barrow. The bar ends aren't vertical, but they are in the 7 o'clock and 5 o'clock positions. The W1-517 reach is perfect and leaves a comfortable bend in the arms with no slumping the back over to reach like with the stock bars.
All the stock cables will reach, but the clutch cable on mine was re-routed along the outside of the left fork tube.
Make sure you buy NEW W1-517s that are made for the 2010 TBW. The internal wiring dimple in older models is too long and will not accommodate the length of the TBW switch without being trimmed.
That would be very helpful. Sounds like they may be the right choice for me as well. The stock bars just don"t cut it. I have normal build but still reaching even after lowering some.
Have 1,000 miles on the bike and really love the ride though. Former bike was an Ultra.
