I never received the letter either, but saw the bulletin posted here on HD Forums.
Recently, over the last 1000 miles of riding I have been hearing a "whirling" sound coming from the front end of the bike. I took the bike to my dealer the other day for some add on item work and advised them of the sound. The service writer came out and said my front tire was shot and believed it was part of the "recall". He inspected it closely, pulled up the recall notice on the computer and said, yup, your getting a new front tire for FREE.
8000+ miles and it's shot. The back tire is still good and dosen't look like there's a problem. I told them I would bring it back for the 10,000 mile service and they could inspect the rear tire then.
I was just curious as to how many people in here with a 2009 touring model that had tire issues? After looking at the HD service bulletin from Nov 2009, it states that customers with 09 touring models will receive a letter in the mail informing them to bring their bike to the dealer so they can check the front tire issue. Has anyone received the letter? I didnt. I did receive the recall on the fuel tank however, but not the tire.
I didn't receive a letter, but got my tire replaced this last Monday for the infamous cupping issues.
I don't have the bike anymore, But I got free tire replacement for my 09 EGC I had. I never got a letter. When I started having problems, I contacted the Dealer I bought the bike from. The service guy told me he didn't think they would do anything because I had over 12K miles on them. I ask him to give me HD customer service number anyway. I called and they gave me a number to take to my Dealer. I didn't go back to that Dealer. The one I went to didn't ask any question's, took one look at the tire and replaced it under warranty. Replaced the back one too! I think it has a lot to do with what Dealer you go to.
I had complained last year about my rear tire having severe cupping, the front only minor. My dealer agreed they were cupped & I had 6k miles @ the time. They refused to warranty either one. So 2 wks ago I e mailed dunlop & complained to them. They called me & said to bring to dealer again I advised them that I had 10,700 on them now but there was still 4/32's of tread left. So I was able to get the front one for free & the rear at 50% plus labor on just the rear. I felt that was fair. I also had the tank recall done & the ABS brake download. Though my dealer acted like he never heard of the ABS service bulletin. I had to show him the copy I printed online. The're incompetence is incredible!!!

Incompetence!...And you let them take both wheels off of your bike and replace the tires and work on your brakes....Hmmmmmm.
Thanks for letting me know I too have a problem with my 2009 roadking front tire wear. I have an appointment next week. They did say there was a bulliten but I never got one Hope they take care of it.
I just picked up my 09 Ultra from the dealer with a free new tire on the front. I had 10,900 on the front and complained about the cupping, and buzzing sound and vibration. They told me that they are pro-rated when I dropped it off, so I figured I'd have to pay something. I asked why no one said anything about the tire issue when I was in for my 5k and then 10k service. The service manager told me that the customer has to bring it up and have a valid complaint. I think that's a little backwards myself. I'm glad that this forum gives out good advice, otherwise I'd be paying $245 for a new tire in a few thousand miles.
