Yeah, I think there's 3 positions. Should be in the middle from the factory. Take out the huge allen bolt, that's all that holds them on. I believe there's a plug in the top hole. Pop it out, mount them. I think it will raise them about 1/2". May or may not be enough for your wife. FWIW: I mounted the Kuryakyn adjustable passenger pegs for my girlfriend. She loves them. They have 4 positions, but only the front two are usable. She didn't have a problem with her legs hitting the crash bars, but her legs/knees got stiff or cramped. Now she can move them around and it has helped a lot.

I raised the passenger floorboards up and took my wife to dinner and a ride and that seems to have helped a whole lot. If that hadn't been mentioned here I may not have realized that for months. Thank you gentlemen, I think I will try the pipe insulation idea too.
