Potatoe vs Pototoe

Both very good machines. I still like my 07 SG for Hot roding even in the twisties. Just get or stay with what ever you are happy with.

Default 2010 FLHTK vs 2006 FLHXI

I owned a 06 FLHXI and just purchased a FLHTK, one thing I noticed it is that new bike does not pulse at high speed going thru turns. Definitely feels much more stable. It may be a full dresser but it feels much lighter. I wouldn't call it night and day difference, but it does feel better.

True-Track
Really I have felt zero rear steer on my 2010. The 08 had it from day one. I even installed a brace to help it and it was better but still could feel it.

I couldnt believe how much nicer these things made my 07 ride, huge difference just in neutral...
True Track and Ohlins on my 08 and she's is a great ride. My biggest issue with the comparison that most give concerning the frames is they want to compare an old high mile bagger with a brand new one , even if the frames were identical the new bike would out shine the clapped out old bag handling wise. When some one compares same milage baggers and and same equipped, for example you can't compare a 16" wheeled bagger to a 18" wheeled bagger, then I'll will be listening to an unbiased comparison. But for someone to say , hey I got off a 07 with 50,000 miles and just spend 20+ thousand dollars on a new 2010 touring bike, I'm pretty sure they are gonna like it better , handling wise.

Default New frames need a brace?

Sure they do their not selling braces like they use to. These companies will come up with anything to sell their braces. Just endless the crap that gets pushed by some to make a buck.

I guess you missed all the posts of the wobble since brand new on my 08. 16000 miles later and a brace still the same. Trust me the new frame(09-10) is whole different animal.

I have not missed anything, yours seem to be a different issue as you say you had problems before and after brace install and I would say you are in the extreme minority in that respect.

I agree, i owned a 2001 RKC then a 2005 electra glide classic and now have a 2009 RKC, the 09 handles so much better than the previous two.

WOW,, how big a change do you consider "HUGE"??????

I have rode a couple of the 08 and older though not a huge amount of miles. I went from a 2K Softail to the '10 FLHX and love it. I have only put on 250 miles so far. But cornering on exit ramps, and a couple miles of country highway is superb on this thing! If feels almost like a sport bike in the corners, nothing like a 700+ lb tourer!

As far as the 09s being "more desirable" because of no Cat... it's only a matter of about 100.00 or less, to get the CAT gone! (On my TODO list!)

My 07 had 12,000 miles on it when I sold it. NOT high mileage. And she was sloppy from day one. TrueTrack went on at about 1200 miles, before any serious miles/wear on the frame and stabilizer bushings. STILL not as tight as my 09, which now has about 10,000 miles.

The frame braces are great, and I would recommend them to anyone with a pre-09 frame. Had them on my 05 and 07. But they are a band-aid to a 20 year old outdated frame that needed to be, and finally was, beefed up.
