hand grips
I have a stupid question. Is there any special procedure for reglueing clutch side hand grip. Mine had come loose last year so I bought some glue from dealer and reinstalled the grip but it didnt hold very good. Moving bike out the grip pulled off. Im wondering if theres a way to clean inside of the grip. Maybe rubbing alcohol poured inside and swirled around, I dont know. The grips are kury Iso . Any suggestions.
Usually those ISO grips stay on real well......alomost have to cut them off. Kury sends good glue with them. Did you use sandpaper on the handlebar end? This way it won't be so slick. I know the directions also say to squeeze the rubber on the grips real good to ensure contact.
I put the throttle side on first and then dry fit the clutch side and try to line it up with the throttle side. Once I have it where I want it I put tape on the grip and the switch housing and make a line across both sides of the tape so when it comes time for the glue I know exactly where I want the grip to end up. Then I do a few practice fits trying to get one fluid motion of siding the grip on and aligning it with the line on the tape before applying the glue. I put the glue at the end of the handle bar so as I slide the grip on it pushes the glue up the handle bar. Just remember the glue sets fast so practice before applying the glue. Once the glue is on there's not much time for adjustments.
