Sooooo, does this "lifetime guarantee" mean I shell out 700 clams for two shocks and I don't like them I can return them for 100% refund? This 08' FLHX of mine rides HORRIBLE ....and I can only compare that to my 98 Low rider and 02 Wide Glide DWG3 with Fox shocks. A touring bike should NOT ride this harsh. I run 20# air, it bottoms, 25# and my kidneys are killing me.

Not really sure what their gurantee is.. however if you want to try RICOR's and for some reason want to return them we will refund you money.... along with working with any issues you may have if your ride is not basically stock and have some other mod already that have to be worked through.

Has anyone had experience with the 940's and with Ricor to provide a first-hand comparison?

Hal - Is Ricor currently matching Progressive's free front spring offer thru May?

This maybe a stupid question but will the 940's lower the SG or will it saty at same height? I want better shocks but it is low enough now

The 940 Series shocks sit at the same height as a Street Glide.

Guarantee is against defects for life. If you can hurt them we will repair or replace for as long as you own them.

I am 170lbs 5'6" w/29" inseam and considering a lowering shock, possibly 940's, however I do almost as much 2 up riding as I do solo and would like to know can the preload be adjusted with the saddle bags in place on a 2010 ultra classic ?

Both are relatively new shocks. I am aware of some comparions between Ohlin and Ricor on this and other Harley forums but I am not aware of anyone testing the 940 series and Ricor's IAS Harley shock.
We do not sell springs. Lots of good choices out there, Progressive being one of them. We are currently offering a good discount on Ricor's line of shocks for members of this forum. Should more than make up for a set of springs.

I have to release the pins on the saddlebags to adjust the preload. I just release the pins, let the bag lean out against my legs, adjust the preload with the top cap on the shocks by hand, then pin the bags back. Takes about 60 seconds per side.

What is your current setting? And solo or 2 up weight?

I'll chime in guys....> I've had the 940's for a few months now and here is my opinion on them.

My stats/set up: 5'4, 175lbs, 06 FLHX w/ 45k miles, lowered front and Corbin seat.. 18's front/back.

Past shocks used.....> stock 12", Air ride adjustable and 11.5" WORKS.

I've put over 30k miles with my air ride system traveling at times 4k+ miles on road trips. Air ride systems work great for that adjust on the fly and lowered stance for us vertical challenged folks. However, like everything in life, things tend to wear, tear and leak if you use it. So rather repairing or replacing, I decided to try something else and moved to a 11.5" SRS works shock. This is an EXCELLENT shock! I loved the low profile, rebound and ride without having to adjust anything. Jump on an go! No bottoming out when riding Solo...KEY WORD...SOLO. The 11'5" WORKS....> that I have <......is great riding solo or even with gear on the back if you do not exceed 250lbs TOTAL. It's pushing it riding two up and I would bottom out once in a while riding two up. I was riding 80% Solo on road trips for a good while but lately I'm riding almost 50% two up on road trips and needed something that would offer that 13" shock comfort+. This is right around the time the 940 was introduced. 13" ride feature with a 12" stance? OK.. PERFECT..I'll bite. I can live with the original 12" stock ride height of my SG. With my Corbin seat shaved, dropped and pushed, a good set of riding boots....my feet will touch the ground. No problem at all riding two up, feet are flat. So I installed the 940's and my feet where on the ground. More than I expected but that could be due to my seat being broken in after 30k miles. The ride solo is GREAT. Very firm and stable. Better than the air ride and similiar to the WORKS performance however, I have to say the WORKS had a better ride SOLO. Probably not an apples to apples comparison as the WORKS shock I have was designed for a SOLO rider with my weight. However, the 940's riding two up with gear is very stable. It performs as advertised. IMHO, this shock really shines with two up or a combination of rider(s) that is 300lbs +.
The rear end holds firm around corners even with dips.

Bottom line.....> VERY Satisfied customer. I'm sure as time goes on, the shock will yield even better results.

I hope this help those who are on the edge.

PS: I have a Set of slightly used 11.5" SRS WORKS shocks that I will be selling soon :-)
