I am planning on replacing my stock windshield (like many of you have already done). I have seen a mix of responses across several threads.
I like the simple recurve and price of the Clearview windshields, however it sounds like they can be a little slow to respond to orders. Is that true? How slow is slow? I don't want to wait all summer or get into a blemished unit - that is partly why I am replacing the stock one now.
Who else sells a simple recurve or flare windshield? What has been your experience with the company?
The longest it's taken me to get one is 30 days, don't dick around order one now before everyone and there procrastinating brother decides to order one. If you wait another month the wait gets real long and people start whining real loud.
I have owned a Clearview and now a Windvest. Both are about the same. Same shape and recurve. Both very good quality. I think the Clearview was cheaper though.
I have tried many windshields. Frankly more than I want to admit. Clearview's recurve seems to suit me best. I think Long Ride is an up and coming windshield supplier. I tried their X-Stream and gave it a favorable review. I have not tried their version of the recurve, but would recommend them based on service alone.
I have been using clear view 9 1/2 " recurve for 75k or so miles on it with vent the best quality shield money can buy. Depending on riding season can be quick or 4to6 wks give em a call very nice people they won't BS you.
I bought a Clearview blem. It had one pinpoint spot 2 inchs up and 3 inches right of center. Now that it's been mounted for nearly a year, I can't find it. I have the light smoke 10.5 recurve. I'm 6'3" and it takes the airstream right over my helmet. I can easily see over the top. I've has a couple of Clearviews on past BMWs and I've never been dissatisfied. Good luck!
I have a 9.5" light tint clearview on my 09 SG with a corbin dual touring seat and it works great. I think it took a couple of weeks to get in the spring, answered all questions fast and good quality. I have read good things about longride shields as well. I am 6"2" and the 9.5" shield works just about as good as the 12" stock ultra shield.
