I will keep mine for sure. It may not be as safe as the government says it should be but every other helmet I bought sat in the closet for 45,000 miles of riding. I haven't even run to the grocery store helmetless since I bought my ACC. I am certain it offers better protection than my wind blown hair did.
You all know you can just buy those DOT stickers right? Stick them on any helmet you want.
Wish I would have gotten one when they were available.. I called a couple months ago to order one and was told the inner lining was on back order and to call back. Sucks.

Go check their website if really want one. It looks like they are still making the same MC helmet only now calling it a kayak helmet. Like one of the previous posters indicated . . . DOT stickers can be found if a guy looks around for them OR just make your own.
I'm keeping my three! Like I said, the DOT said it failed the spear test. I've never seen a MC get speared on the highway!! Also, they have always made kayak helmets. That has always been their bread and butter. Don't buy a DOT sticker on EBAY. It will not work with the PO PO! Don't ask how I know.
I called for the label this morning, now I am undecided if I will ship mine back or not. I wouldn't if I knew for sure it wasn't going to get me pulled over and written up out of state............... I just don't know.
I have full confidence in the helmet's protection, I just don't care much for the shoe string rigging that straps it to my head.
ACC was so great to deal with. The head hugger system wasn't available for the head trip when I bought mine and my wife's last spring. Last winter I saw on their website that it was available now. I called them and asked them what it would cost to get it. They told me they would send a label to ship it to them and they would install the head hugger system for free and ship them back to me.
I insisted on paying shipping and also sent a return label so they wouldn't be out any shipping cost at all if they were going to upgrade my helmets for free. They upgraded my helmets and shipped them back on their dime and didn't use my label so my ups account was not hit for return shipping. That meant alot to me.
After thinking about this all day, I have decided that I am keeping my ACC helmet even if I never wear it again, but I probably will. It really makes me wonder why a government agency would go to such great lengths to bankrupt an American company who is obviously making a popular, quality product.
The way I understand their mess, is their helmets passed the inspection once, but were tested again at a later date and failed. Seems like BS to me. This is going to kill the company.
