Default How many are keeping your ACC helmets?

I talked to them this morning and they are sending me a shipping label, but I'm having second thoughts about sending it back. I mean, it has all of the right stickers on it. How would a LEO be able to write me up? Just asking ...

I called for the shipping label today, but undecided. Not required here in IL, but I go over to MO regularly.

I'm kind of on the fence about it too. I have an HJC that fits, but it's huge and heavy compared to the ACC. I figure taking a header at 75mph it really won't matter too much anyway.

I would like to know also I have one and would hate to get rid of it but I know I would get a fine based on the decision of authorities. If you wear a helmet for protection you are only fooling yourself on what it has to offer. I am looking for a replacement and have to try some on to choose. I assume you need some document for proof of purchase also to return it.

If it's got the right DOT labels (like mine), you're fine.
Is the cop gonna do some kind of field test on it to make sure it complies with DOT rules?

People need to quit sweating this ACC recall crap.

Take the money and run! Nobody else is going to give you full retail refund. Much cheaper helmets out there either skid lids or DOT whatever floats your boat.

This is the most comfortable, lightest helmet I have ever worn. With a few mods (getting the strap so it does not loosen on the highway) it is perfect. I will never give mine up. Not even for full price after 3+ years.

As long as my old lady and grandkids think it's DOT, I'm keeping mine.
