Well I can't give you the why I like it but I can tell you I have the Harley pouches and don't like them. They rattle like crazy, the gap between the windshield and the dash is too wide it doesn't close like without the pouches. You really need to put some carpet or something against the windshield, they don't really hold what I expected like a sunglasses case. All in all a waste of money for me.
I have the HD set and they seem fine. They have some fuzzy pads behind on the windshield and they hover off the dash with rubber stoppers. I use the center for a spare set of night / sun glasses and the sides for just junk. But maybe I'm missing something.
I have the HD pouches and I'm OK with them. I use the center for my glasses and the right one for my Ipod Shuffle. Left side I use for my ID Badge and odds and ends.
I have the T Bag windshield pouch and I like it because the center pouch is large enough to hold my rigid eyeglass case. I also like the appearance of the unit.
I have the "box style" on my UC. More storage space than the pouches, usually put my Cell phone, pager, MP3 player, a couple packs of smokes lighter, and the garage door opener in it.
Sometime I here things rattle around when idling or if I hit a bump in the road.
