Default ABS Warning Light Question

Hey guys,

I have a 2010 Road King w/ ABS. Last Friday on the way to work in the morning, the ABS warning light stayed on after start up. I noticed it a couple miles from my house so I pulled into a gas station and shut the bike down. I waited about 30 seconds and re-started the bike. This time the light stayed off while I was riding.

I rode the bike to grab lunch and the light didn't come on, but after work riding the bike to meet some friends for dinner, the light stayed on again. On the way home, the light stayed off and I rode the bike all weekend and the light stayed off.

My brakes are working fine and the ABS system seems to be operational.

On start-up, the ABS light blinks like it normally does, testing the system.

What do you think it could be? Just dirt on the ABS sensor?

Thanks,

Alex

Don't know but I'd let the dealer check it out.

Don't know if this will help or not but a few months ago I had my 09 Street Glide in to have the passing lamps and speakers installed. On the way home I noticed that the ABS light was staying on. I turned the bike around and headed back to the dealer. Of course they were mega busy and told me they couldn't look at till the next day and asked if I wanted to leave it overnight.

I told them no that I would bring it back the next day. On the way home I tested the brakes and could tell the ABS was not kicking in. Got home and broke out the service manual to read up on the ABS and noticed it mentioned a connector below the fairing on the left side of the bike. Knowing that they took of the outer fairing to do the lights and speaker I went out and looked and sure enough the connector was not connected. Guess the tech forgot to plug it back in when he finished up.

When I connected it back it went on pretty easy so you might just want to check it out to be sure that its connected securely.

Other than that I'd take it back to the dealer and let them have a look at it.

Good luck.
