Just stay away from them new HD fairing mirrors with the convex spot mirrors in the corner.
Cheap junk.

Actually, I just got a pair and like them MUCH more than the stock SG mirrors...

I have not been happy with the Street Glide fairing mounted mirrors for 3 years now. I'm just not able to see around my arms with them. Have installed black handlebar mounted stem mirrors and I didn't notice any more vibration then with the fairing mounted ones. Not as cool looking as the fairing mounted ones but I can see behind and to the sides now. Ok I'm old and not cool but I have a fast bike...........

...had them on my 09 SG and they looked good and functioned well for me. But on my new Limited I've decided to stay with the stock stem mounts. I promised myself not to make many changes on my Limited and so far I've done good on that promise. I'm still running stock exhaust and cleaner and will continue running stock (a first for me). However, I've changed the horn over to air...installed the push button on the gas door, placed liners in the lower pockets, replaced the rear ambers with red "bullet shaped" lens, and replaced the clearshield with the Klockwerks 6 1/2" windscreen. I would like to have the painted inner fairing in Merlot from Harley...but trying to keep with my promise.

I tend to "individualize" my bikes to the limits and when I get to that point I end up selling and starting all over again...so this time I'm not going that route...I will just ride, clean, eat, sleep, and repeat.

I felt that they limited my vision and that the adjustability was lacking compared to a bar mounted mirror. When I swapped out my inner for a painted one I didn't put the fairing mounts back on and went with the bar mounts. I feel it was the best thing for me and I don't regret it. I can still put them in at a later date if I so desire so it's not something I'm stuck with. Drill the holes and that's it.

I think that I will eventually put the Kuryakyn "Blind Spot" mirrors on my 09 SG. The reason I say that is I almost didn't see a blind spot merging onto I 90 and was almost smuked had I moved around a slower vehilcle that I was coming up on that I was going to. Needless to say it scared me to the point to where it got me thinking about the SG fairing mounted mirrors, and how maybe that they needed replaced.

I would like to change out the handlebars too but I don't know if they would work with the Kury mirrors or not, or if you would be looking under your arms. So if that be the case, then maybe I should go with the bar mounted mirrors.

I am satisfied with mine. Just ordered a set of PM fairing mirrors to replace the stockers.

One thing no one has mentioned about them is that they not only function as mirrors but also double as a broken fairing bracket detection device. When you have an outer fairing bracket break you will know it. The mirror on that side will shake like a dog sh!ttin' peach seeds!

They came stock on my SG. I had to get rid of them when I changed my bars...couldn't see them. No big deal. I like my bagger apes way better than I liked my fairing mount mirrors.
