Had them on my '99, and they were an add on for the new bike. I could never go back to the stem mirrors. I like the lack of vibration compared to the bar mounts. They are not for everyone, see if you can get a seat on a bike with them to see how you like them. When I asked my dealer why more faired bikes don't have them, I was told that some of my "larger' riding brothers have trouble seeing around themselves due to the lower placement of them.
Have em on my bike visibility could be limited depends on size of a rider my self they work great very little vibration until my fairing brackets cracked O man that was hell of ride home try not to stare at em but my eyes won't stop staring at em constantly .
The fairing mirrors are one of the little things I really like on the SG.
Just stay away from them new HD fairing mirrors with the convex spot mirrors in the corner.
Cheap junk.
i have an 08 streetglide and did not like the fairing mounted mirrors at all, at first. i even bought a new set of take off black mirrors from another harley, and did not install them. the reason being, i got used to the fairing mirrors, and now that i've ridden a couple of years with them, i would not see much if any improvement with stalk mirrors.
my dad had the kurakyn ones that mounted on the front of the faring and the rattled right off literary the right side fell off while going down the road and smashed on the road he got warranty on the and got a credit though
I have a set to install on my 09 Ultra having had them on an 1996 EVO standard glide (which I installed). I did like them a lot but....
A word of caution-- be sure to physically check the position to be sure you have scope for adjustment before you drill! I checked the template several times before drilling and the first go round showed they were too low.
Fortunately I was able to re-drill in a spot where the mirror mount covered the first hole--just!
I have read of others having this problem so I suggest you check it our first--maybe try a search here?
