Bitchin Baggers 1.5" drop
Over six months ago I commented that my shocks that were modified by Bitchin Baggers were bottoming out while hitting bumps, etc. I called the company and the owner offered to re-work the shocks at no cost, but I opted to keep experimenting. While my bike (2009 Ultra) was in the shop one day getting an oil change, the mechanic told me that my bike was like riding a hard-tail. The manual suggests using 40-50 lbs. of air when riding two-up. I had my set at 50 lbs. I only weigh 140 and my wife weighs 117. He suggested reducing the air to 20. I was a little confused, since the HD manual said 40-50 lbs. I've been riding Harley's for the last 7 years, but this was my first touring bike with air-shocks. I've been playing around with different air adjustments and I can't believe the difference. When I ride solo, I use 4 lbs of air. When I ride two-up, I am using 12 lbs. of air. The ride is very nice and I'm not bottoming out. The problem earlier was that I was using way to much air and it felt like I was bottoming out. Anyway, to make a long story short, Bitchin Baggers does a great job with their 1.5" drop shocks and their customer service is top notch!
