I have replaced the battery three times in 2 years. The battery is on a battery maintainer during winter months and stored in a heated garage. I have taken the bike to a bike mechanic three times for this issue and still nothing. I just brought it back to the shop last week. He spent 4 hours of trouble shooting and came up with the needing to replace the voltage regulator, which I did. This did not fix the problem.
In idle the battery light comes on intermittently.
I will assume that the battery is charging at around 13 to 14 something when the bike is running.
Is the bike draining the battery when it is sitting. If this is the case you may want to shut off the bike and place an amp meter between the positive post and the positive battery terminal and see how much current is being drawn by the bike when it is turned off.
If it seems high start pulling fuses until the current draw is eliminated and see where the current is going.
Not much else I can come up with from your discription of the problem, except buy a different brand of battery.
I would assume that all possible chassis grounds have been checked.

Reason: left something out
I have the exact same problem on my 04 RoadGlide. Pulled all fuses. Only the main stops the drain. It is a full power drain.
Did you ever find the root cause of the problem? I knwo that HD is going to recommend the Regulator as well but I doubt that is the issue, I replaced that a few years ago. I suspect it is the computer.
