(Bus Er) Error code on speedo

(Bus Er) Error code on speedo
I just installed a fairing on my 08 roadking....I hooked up the 12 volt plug on the fairing to the accessory connection under the left side cover....Then when I go to plug in the GPS or cell phone charger it brings up a Bus Er code on the speedo....Just wondering if anyone has had this problem

I used the wrong harness....you have to use the one under the seat by the battery....I made the mistake and used the one under the left side cover hope this helps

Had the same problem. Mistakenly used the plug/harness on the left side. Wrong plug; this is the diagnostic hookup. I located the correct plug, under the seat, up front near the tank. Its under the plastic tray, and needed a flash light to id it. Plugged it in, and ran the power source under the dash, to the front end for a gps. The connector for my '08 RK is HD part# 91843-97.
