Default fuel injection cleaner

just purchased my first fuel injected bike,2010 ultra classic and I am wondering if it is necessary to put fuel injection cleaner in the tank and if so how many miles should i go between adding?

Thanks

Why ? H-D doesn't recommend it. All the gas now days already have cleaners added during the refining process.

The injectors are made by Delphi and are similar to the injectors
in many GM vehicles.

Chevron with Techron !!!!!!!!
Or buy Techron @ the auto parts store (or GM Parts Dept)

I've been using Amsoil PI (performance improver) for the last two years. I was impressed with it when I began to use it in my cage years ago, so I thought I would give it a try in my scooter. Amsoil recommends using the treatment every 4,000 miles.

Seafoam when I put the bike away for the winter. Cleans everything up and as a stabilizer it works far better than Sta-bil.

Necessary...No

I do run some through the tank just before I change the oil though. I'm not loyal to any particular brand. I've used Techron, Sea Foam, and Berrymans at times. I don't think I would use it at every fill-up though. Can't see a need for that.

I don't think so. More important is having all three holes filled with a good synthetic, not syn 3. The other move is a stage one upgrade that will allow the engine to breath and keep cooler.
You have a fuel filter in the gas tank , change 25,000 mi., that will keep out any unwanted particles out. Plus, high octane gas is pretty clean and does have cleaners added.

I like the Lucas products. I usually have the Lucas fuel injection cleaner around and put a little in the tank every couple of thousand miles. I have a 2006 RKC with 11K miles. Dont know if it helps, but makes me feel good. My bike runs well with out a miss and I've been using the stuff since new. Who knows.
